Holly has been a painter of her observed surroundings her entire life. Finding all mediums exciting, she works with everything from gouache and watercolor on paper to ornaments painted with acrylics to intaglio on her basement etching press. When not being commissioned to paint houses or dogs, she illustrates children's books and podcast cover art for friends. She was also included in The Boston Globe Magazine's 2020 Holiday Gift Guide.
Holly received her BFA from Plymouth State University. She spent a year doing her thesis in printmaking with a focus in portraiture, undoubtedly leading to the portraits she currently specializes in. She has taken graduate classes in art therapy at Lesley University and has taught art classes both to adults and children for several years. Inspired by and passionate about animals and the outdoors, she lives just outside of Boston with her husband, two children and her darling Scottish terrier, Hamish, who is often her muse.
