Artist and Norwood resident Cindy Rudolph's paste paper creations are a combination of calligraphy, bold color, layering, textural effects, abstraction and lots of fun. Her paste papers are made using a method of applying an acrylic mixture onto a moistened paper surface. After colors have been swiped on and swirled, various tools used on the still-wet surface produce interesting and surprising results. She refers to the process as "controlled spontaneity". Once the paper is thoroughly dry, Cindy has hand lettered a few words being careful to not overpower the paste paper, but to enhance it.
